Membership & Program Internship

NCRP promotes philanthropy that serves the public good, is responsive to people and communities with the least wealth and opportunity, and is held accountable to the highest standards of integrity and openness. NCRP envisions a fair, just and democratic society, with Philanthropy at Its Best contributing to this society. Philanthropy at Its Best serves the public good rather than private interest, employs grantmaking and grantmaker processes that most effectively help nonprofits achieve their missions, and strengthens democracy by responding to the needs of those with the least wealth and opportunity. This work is accomplished through a combination of action, research, advocacy, and media outreach.

NCRP’s field department is actively working on building a base of members and allies to carry out future national campaigns. The intern designated for work in the field department will be working to build the membership base and contribute to future campaign agendas for philanthropic field based in the U.S. During the ten weeks at NCRP, the intern will support all membership and outreach activities of NCRP, coordinate and support the development campaign processes, and provide programmatic support to the Field Director as needed. The scope of work will be finalized before the internship begins but tasks will include assisting with data management, data analysis, correspondence with members, and program and presentation design.

Familiarity with philanthropy and the nonprofit sector, and experience working with the Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Access are strongly preferred.

This paid position requires the ability to multitask and to adapt to changing priorities as NCRP closes the first year of implementing our strategic plan. Interns from both undergraduate and graduate programs will be considered and the scope of work will align with the interns’ level of experience and education.
