Christine Reeves is the senior field associate at the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy. At NCRP, the nation's only watchdog for grantmaking foundations, Christine promotes socially just philanthropy that serves and empowers marginalized communities. When giving interactive presentations across the country, Christine shares philanthropic strategies that help grantmakers enhance their positive social impact. Her presentations—from 90-minute workshops, to daylong trainings—cover a wide variety of topics, strategies, partnership-strengthening techniques, place-based and issue-based research, quantitative return-on-investment analysis, qualitative storytelling, professional development skills, and hands-on adult learning exercises. She often co-presents with philanthropic leaders whose foundations joined NCRP's initiative, Philanthropy's Promise. Beyond NCRP, she served as a grantmaker for the Funding Exchange Network (FEX). Currently, she serves as vice chair of the Emerging Practitioners In Philanthropy (EPIP) DC Chapter. She contributes to two philanthropy blogs: Keeping A Close Eye and LearnPhilanthropy. Christine also published the article "Specialist or Generalist: A False Dichotomy," in Responsive Philanthropy. She earned her master's degree from Duke University's Terry Sanford School of Public Policy, where she wrote her master's thesis: "Major Trends of International Grantmaking Foundations: A Project for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation." Previously, Christine graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Emory University, where she earned a magna cum laude distinction for her honors thesis: "Sweatshops of the Soil: Varying Protections for Migrant Farm Workers in the US, WWI-Present."
