RONALD McKINLEY
For the past thirty years, Ron has been dedicated to the simple premise that our communities are strongest when all those who live, work and play in them are intimately involved in the decisions of the community.
As former project director for the Kellogg Action Lab (KAL) initiative of the Fieldstone Alliance, Ron facilitated connections between nonprofits and capacity building resources in an effort to build strength throughout the nonprofit/philanthropic sector. As executive director of the National Network of Grantmakers (NNG), he facilitated the agenda of over 275 members dedicated to philanthropic reform. In his role as director of the Wilder Center for Communities (WCC), he worked with an extraordinary team of professionals to promote vital community life by engaging youth, developing strong, connected leaders and strengthening non-profit organizations. As vice president of The Saint Paul Companies, Inc. Foundation and executive director of the St. Paul Companies Maryland Foundation, Ron managed a $12 million grant program for one of the largest corporate grantmakers in Minnesota.
Earlier in his career, Ron was the founding director of The Minnesota Minority Education Partnership (MMEP), a senior program officer for the Minneapolis Foundation and coordinator of American Indian Programs for Macalester College.
