GLORIA TERESA (TERRI) LANGSTON

Gloria Teresa (Terri) Langston most recently worked at the Public Welfare Foundation in Washington, D.C.  She was Senior Program Officer for Health Reform from 2006 through 2010 and served as director of programs prior to that from 2002-2005.  Her previous position with the foundation was as a program office for the Health and Disadvantaged Elderly Initiatives in the late 1980’s through 2001.  In addition to her work at the foundation, Ms. Langston has served a board member of Grantmakers in Health, an instructor at the George Washington University and other colleges.  She holds a bachelor of arts degree from Agnes Scott College, a master of arts in German from the Ohio State University and a PhD in comparative literature from Emory University.  Ms. Langston was also a Fulbright scholar to the University of Bonn and is fluent in German.  She was the recipient of the 2008 Terrance Keenan Leadership Award in Health Philanthropy awarded by Grantmakers in Health.  Her most recent publication is titled, “A National Foundation Undertakes a Regional Strategy in the South,” published by Grantmakers in Health in April 2009.
