How the Winners Were Selected
NCRP received hundreds of nominations of outstanding grantmakers from December 2012 through January 2013. Nominees were judged by the extent to which they intentionally prioritize and empower marginalized communities to attack the root causes of social problems; work respectfully and in true partnership with nonprofit grantees to help them become stronger organizations; and exercise public leadership to help improve the philanthropic sector.
