The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy has announced the recipients of its inaugural NCRP Impact Awards.

The program seeks to honor grantmaking organizations that NCRP believes have shown effectiveness, leadership, and innovation in solving some of the nation's most difficult challenges. Awards were made in four categories, including large private foundations, small/mid-size private foundations, grantmaking public charities, and corporate foundations.

Selected from a pool of organizations nominated by the general public and then narrowed by NCRP, the 2013 award winners are the NoVo Foundation, the Woods Fund of Chicago, the California Community Foundation, and the Levis Strauss Foundation. The organizations will be honored for their "smart, high-impact philanthropy" at NCRP's annual conference in Chicago next month.
