NCRP Executive Director Rick Cohen and Board Members David Jones and Gary Bass Recognized as NonProfit Times' Power and Influence Top 50 for 2006

Washington, D.C. - The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP)'s Rick Cohen, David Jones and Gary Bass have been recognized as among the top 50 most powerful and influential leaders in the sector by the NonProfit Times. For the ninth year, the NonProfit Times has chosen from over 200 nominees those who are leading the field and shaping the nonprofit world.

"This honor is really tangible recognition of the work of NCRP, its 30-year history promoting philanthropic accountability and social justice, and its successes in advocating for increased foundation grantmaking and access for people with the least wealth and least opportunity in our society," said Cohen, who is the executive director of NCRP.

Prior to joining NCRP in 1999, Rick's extensive background in community development included work with Local Initiatives Support Corporation, the Enterprise Foundation, Jersey City's Department of Housing and Economic Development and the Trust for Public Land in New York City, among other organizations.

David Jones is the board chair of NCRP. He has been president and chief executive officer of the Community Service Society of New York since 1986, where his work has been instrumental in advocating for and serving low-income New Yorkers.

Gary Bass is a board member of NCRP and the founder and executive director of OMB Watch, where he has been researching and monitoring federal budget, taxation and government procedures for over 20 years.

NCRP is privileged to have three of the 50 top leaders in the nonprofit sector as part of its team. We are a national watchdog, research and advocacy organization promoting public accountability and accessibility among foundations, corporate grantmakers, individual donors and workplace giving programs.
