NCRP Executive Director Rick Cohen Named Among the NonProfit Times' ‘Power & Influence Top 50' List
WASHINGTON-Rick Cohen, executive director of the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) has been named as one of "The 2004 NPT Power & Influence Top 50" a list of nonprofit leaders recognized by The NonProfit Times for their distinguished leadership in the nonprofit sector. The special report appeared in the publication's Aug. 1 issue.

"Cohen takes no prisoners when it comes to looking at public policy, and it's clear through the research and writing at NCRP that style has been infused into the important reports the organization puts out," said the annual NPT list of Cohen and NCRP.

"It is truly an honor for NCRP to be recognized in this way by the NonProfit Times," said Cohen.  "This is really a testament to NCRP's increasing visibility, reliability, and effectiveness as the progressive watchdog in the philanthropic community.  Inclusion in NPT's Power & Influence Top 50 is recognition of how much the NCRP staff and board do through compelling research and public policy advocacy to promote social justice and philanthropic accountability among foundation and corporate grantmakers."

Also included on the list is Gary Bass, a longtime NCRP board member and founder and executive director of OMB Watch.

Founded in 1976, the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy is dedicated to helping the philanthropic community advance the traditional values of social and economic justice for all Americans.  Committed to helping funders more effectively serve the most disadvantaged Americans, NCRP is a national watchdog, research and advocacy organization that promotes public accountability and accessibility among foundations, corporate grantmakers, individual donors and workplace giving programs.  For more information on NCRP or to join, please visit www.ncrp.org or call (202) 387-9177.
