Additional information:
A new report, "Strengthening Democracy, Increasing Opportunities: Impacts of Organizing, Advocacy and Civic Engagement, in Minnesota" documents the work of 15 local nonprofits and their allies during a five-year period (2004-2008) that engaged Minnesotans in the policy process and other initiatives on issues such as education, health care, living wages, transportation and civil rights. More than two dozen foundations provided critical funding to these efforts.
NCRP researchers will unveil a considerable return for every dollar invested on these policy engagement initiatives. They will offer concrete recommendations on effective strategies for foundations interested in helping bring about lasting solutions to difficult social problems that affect all Minnesotans.
Embargoed copies of the report and fact sheet are available to interested journalists upon request. To request a copy, please contact Ginger Sisco [ This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it | O: (763) 544-0629 | C: (612) 581-4272].
