| TOP FOUNDATION EXECUTIVE JOINS WATCHDOG GROUP | |||

WASHINGTON, D.C.-The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) announced today the election of Gara LaMarche to the organization's board of directors. "Gara LaMarche is one of philanthropy's outstanding leaders," said Aaron Dorfman, executive director of NCRP. "Not only does he head one of the nation's largest foundations, he also has been a champion for progressive social change throughout his career. We're honored and delighted that he has joined the board." Gara LaMarche is the president and CEO of Atlantic Philanthropies, a multi-billion dollar foundation established by Duty Free Shops co- founder Chuck Feeney. Prior to joining Atlantic Philanthropies in 2007, Mr. LaMarche served as Vice President and Director of U.S. Programs for the Open Society Institute (OSI) in New York, N.Y. He also served in a variety of positions with the Human Rights Watch and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). He has written numerous articles on human rights and social justice issues. He currently teaches a course in philanthropy and public policy at New York University's Wagner School of Public Service, and is on the boards of PEN AmericanCenter and The White House Project.
