Funding of Black-led Groups: Philanthropy, Afrolatinidad & the Fight for Racial Justice
Feb. 19, 2021
Webinar
NCRP is co-sponsoring “Funding of Black-led Groups: Philanthropy, Afrolatinidad & the Fight for Racial Justice,” a webinar led by Hispanics in Philanthropy. In the midst of a year unlike any in recent history, the dual health and economic crises have brought ongoing racial injustices and systemic disparities in the U.S. to the forefront. At the height of the Black Lives Matter protests during the summer of 2020 many organizations made quick statements and pledges for funding. But where is this money really going and how will it change how philanthropy confronts white supremacy and structural racism? Join us for an open conversation on how to expand and implement compañerismo, the internal journeys philanthropy must take, and how this intentional practice leads to a deeper and long-term capacity to partner with grassroots BIPOC-serving organizations and movements in order to shift power to communities when it comes to funding strategies for Black and Afrolatino-led organizations.
