ABFE
“Fierce Urgency of Now” Conference
April 14-16, 2018
Memphis, TN
Three staff members from NCRP, Jeanné Isler (vice president and chief engagement officer), Beverley Samuda–Wylder (senior director of human resources and administration), and Janay Richmond (manager of nonprofit membership and engagement), will join the nation’s largest gathering of Black professionals in philanthropy at “The Fierce Urgency of Now” conference. Jeanné will be present data and recommendations from As the South Grows, an initiative by NCRP and Grantmakers for Southern Progress that is designed to provide national and Southern funders alike with practical tools they need to partner effectively with communities on the frontlines of change. The Fierce Urgency of Now also calls attention to investment strategies that build and protect Black institutional, political and economic power. ABFE is aimed at increasing public and private investments in Black communities by taking steps to further the philanthropic sector’s connection and responsiveness to issues of equity, diversity and inclusion.
