Community-powered grassroots social movements need more philanthropic funding for efforts to create a more equitable and just future
The Movement Investment Project is a long-term initiative rooted in the experience of frontline movement leaders and funder allies that uses research, engagement and advocacy to:
- Drive more philanthropic resources to social movements
Such as pro-immmigrant, democracy and economic equity movements. - Catalyze grantmaking strategies and practices that are responsive to movements’ immediate and long-term needs
Such as flexible, multi-year funding; support for capacity building and leadership; leveraging funder influence and other ways that grantmakers and donors can help movement organizations succeed.
