2017 NCRP Impact Awards

Nominate grantmakers that are boldly supporting movements and resisting injustice.

Recognize. Inspire.

Do you know of a grantmaker that boldly supported movements and efforts that resist injustice? See if they fit one of the four award categories below.

In light of the urgent need for action in this historical moment, this year’s awards will recognize and honor the “best of the best” among U.S.-based grantmakers (not individuals) that practiced smart, high-impact domestic philanthropy over the past year in one of the four new award categories:

  • The “Smashing Silos” Award for Intersectional Grantmaking
The funder worked in deep partnership with under-represented and vulnerable communities and supported multi-issue and cross-identity efforts to address systemic causes of social, economic or environmental challenges.
  • The “Get Up, Stand Up” Award for Rapid Response
The grantmaker provided timely, flexible resources and adjusted its processes to respond quickly to urgent movement needs, especially those of smaller grassroots, frontline groups.
  • The “Changing Course” Award for Incorporating Feedback
The funder shifted its strategies and operations in response to feedback from stakeholders, particularly those most affected by inequity and injustice.
  • The “Mover and Shaker” Award for Bold Peer Organizing
The grantmaker was a bold and creative ambassador for a culture shift in philanthropy. It centered the voices and needs of marginalized communities. It took risks in leveraging its reputation, expertise and convening power to move additional resources to support advocacy, organizing and civic engagement.

The NCRP Impact Awards celebrates domestic grantmakers of all types and sizes, including large private foundations, small/mid-sized private foundations, corporate foundations and grantmaking public charities such as community foundations, United Ways and public foundations.
