Ben & Jerry’s Foundation receives national award

Ben & Jerry’s Foundation won the award for achievement by a corporate foundation at the second annual NCRP Impact Awards this week in Washington, D.C.
Hosted by the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy, the awards recognize effective philanthropic strategies that lead to meaningful change in communities across the country.
Ben & Jerry’s Foundation has worked to advance social and environmental justice since 1985, making grants to promote issues from justice for migrant workers to transparency in genetically modified foods. Recent grants from the foundation to Migrant Justice helped the organization secure access to driver’s privilege cards for migrant workers and pass bias-free policies for state and local law enforcement agencies.
Ben & Jerry’s co-founder Jerry Greenfield accepted the award in a taped video message, saying, “We are so thrilled and honored to receive this award. We really appreciate the incredible work you guys all do, and even more especially, the work done by our grantees.”
